It's the International Women's Day today. We have 3 female writers in Il Ponte and this is what they want you to know:

"It is hard to sense the beautiful smell of roses and taste the delicious sweetness of chocolate today considering the large number of other women, our sisters, who only get to encounter the bitterness of reality.

Please, realize that the International Women's Day, even in the 21st century, is still not a time of celebration for every woman. Today there are still movements, protests, marches, all demanding one of the most basic pillars of modern society - the equality of rights for all people no matter their gender. So, please, open your eyes and watch, open your mouth and speak loudly, and most importantly open your mind and realize that we, women and men are equal! So that one day, this will become a day of real celebration for all women!

The International Women's Day doesn't have to be celebrated with flowers, diamonds or cars. What women truly desire is equal pay, not getting interrupted when they talk and not having the fear of facing sexual harassment in their workplace or anywhere else. And ladies, don't forget about our #GirlPower and the beauty that is inside of every one of us."
